Mission & Objectives

To create and maintain accessible, vibrant, and sustainable parks that enrich the lives of communities through recreation, education, and environmental stewardship. It encompasses not only the maintenance of these green spaces but also includes fostering environmental consciousness among the public. Through initiatives like promoting awareness of Jharkhand's tribal heritage environment awareness, health awareness program, historical event organized on the Hool Diwas in memory and honour of freedom fighter sido-kanhu and participating in national & International campaigns such as the Hool Diwas, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, world environment day, International Yoga day etc. Jharparks strives to create a harmonious balance between urban development, cultural awareness and ecological preservation. .

    Strives to provide accessible, affordable, accommodating and welcoming parks and program services to diverse residents and regional visitors regardless of age, ability, race, ethnicity and income level.     Understanding of sustainability to mean “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Jharparks believes that all decisions will have long-term and regional impacts on the environment, society, culture and economy. Key Objectives:

The Objectives of Jharparks is centered around creating, maintaining, and enhancing green spaces across Jharkhand to promote environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and public well-being.

  • Developing Eco-friendly Urban Spaces –Establishing and maintaining parks, botanical gardens, and green belts in urban areas to provide clean and pollution-free environments.
  • Conserving Biodiversity –Protecting and nurturing local flora and fauna in-situ & Ex-situ conservation.
  • Promoting Environmental Awareness –Encouraging public participation in conservation efforts and raising awareness about ecological balance and sustainable living.
  • Enhancing Recreational Facilities –Creating well-equipped parks with modern amenities, jogging tracks, children’s play zones, and educational exhibits.
  • Integrating Culture & Heritage – Showcasing Jharkhand’s tribal heritage and traditions through themed parks and eco-tourism initiatives.
  • Sustainability & Green Development – Supporting the state’s urban planning efforts by integrating green spaces into infrastructure development.

Jharparks, officially known as the Jharkhand UdhyanSamiti, is an autonomous body established under the Department of Forests, Environment, and Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand.
